US Department of Justice categories are not mutually exclusive:
A single crime can fall into more than one category.
For example, when a computer is instrumental in committing a crime, it usually contains digital evidence of the offense.
USDOJ further clarifies that content of computers and networks is usually the subject of the search -- not the hardware.
According to USDOJ, often hardware must be collected in order to search for the information.
