Should you check write-protect capability of a floppy disk?
It is a good idea to test that floppy drive will not write to a write-protected floppy.
Accomplished by using a test floppy, opening the write-enable tab so that writing is disabled, and attempting to write a file to that floppy.
If the file can be written, the floppy drive may be malfunctioning.
Worse: if write-enabling tab is set incorrectly, writing can occur.
